Community Guidelines

In addition to these Terms of Use, your use of hitract is also governed by hitract’s Community guidelines, which outline the expected behavior and communication on the platform. The Community guidelines form an integral part of this Agreement and apply to all use of the service.

You can find the Community guidelines here: Community guidelines

Introduction

By joining hitract, you accept these Terms of Use (also referred to as the 'User Agreement' or 'Agreement') and enter into a legally binding contract with hitract. You join hitract by logging into the service, for example, by clicking a button that says 'Log in via...'. This Agreement also applies if you are using our services on behalf of a company or organization. If for any reason you do not accept this Agreement, you should not join the service. If you wish to terminate this Agreement with us, you may do so at any time by deleting your account and ceasing to use our service.

What services and who does this Agreement apply to?

This Agreement applies to all services found under the hitract domain, as well as hitract’s app(s) and any services stating that they are governed by this Agreement. This User Agreement applies to both registered users (also referred to as 'Members') and non-registered users of our service (also referred to as 'Visitors').

Who are you entering into a contract with?

By accepting this Agreement, you enter into a legally binding contract with hitract. This also means that you are subject to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

Changes to the Agreement?

Hitract may update these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy at any time. When changes are made, they will be announced—if required by law—on our website, via a message to you, or through other means. This is to give you the opportunity to review our updated Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and/or Cookie Policy. If you object to any changes in the aforementioned agreements, we ask that you immediately delete your account and stop using our service. If you choose to continue using the service after a change has taken effect, you accept our updated agreement.

These exist to create a safe and secure service for you and to ensure that the service functions as effectively as possible for the majority of users. Our services comply with applicable laws, and we take this seriously. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that you, as a Member or Visitor, also comply with applicable laws and regulations in your use of the service.

(6) The information you provide in your profile and elsewhere on the service must be accurate, meaning you do not knowingly provide false information

User behavior and Community guidelines

When using hitract, you as a Member or Visitor are expected to act in a respectful, responsible, and lawful manner. All communication, interaction, and content shared on the service must comply with these Terms of Use as well as hitract’s community guidelines.

Behavior or content that may harm, offend, harass, discriminate against, or otherwise create an unsafe environment for other users is not permitted.

In the event of suspected or actual violations of these Terms of Use or the community guidelines, hitract reserves the right to take appropriate action. Such actions may include, but are not limited to, issuing a warning, removing content, or permanently suspending an account.

The community guidelines are available here: Community Guidelines

What do you agree to as a Member when you join the service?

Hitract is built to bring together students, student associations, and employers by providing a platform for interaction and collaboration. By becoming a Member of the service, you agree that:

(1) Hitract uses the information you provide directly, collected through third parties, or generated through your usage, communication, and interaction on the service. This information is used to provide a better experience for you and to present relevant recommendations (e.g., related to courses, friends, events), as well as to match and make you visible in different ways on the platform for potential employers. This is always done in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and we always respect your settings regarding what is visible to other Visitors and Members. Hitract will never disclose your activity on the platform to another Member, Visitor, or third party.

(2) Hitract communicates with you via the contact information you have provided on the service or through the platform itself

(3) You keep your contact information up to date and only provide truthful information

(4) The information you submit on the platform and make visible through settings may be shown to other Members, and in some cases even outside the platform (depending on your settings). We will always respect your choices

(5) Hitract may at any time remove any information (including but not limited to posts, advertisements, or images) from the platform without notifying you as a Member

(6) You only make information or material available that does not violate any applicable laws or infringe on anyone's rights, including intellectual property rights

(7) Our website strictly prohibits any content that is false, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, hateful, racially, ethnically, or otherwise offensive or inappropriate for a user. Hitract AB reserves the right to determine what is considered false, offensive, or inappropriate content. As a user, you can report harmful content through the app or via [email protected]

What must you consider when retrieving course history and verifying yourself as a student?

When creating an account on hitract or using certain services (e.g., hitDeals or when updating your courses), you will be asked to verify yourself as a student via antagning.se. At that point, we collect information about your study and course history (university and courses) solely for the purpose of verifying your student status and enabling you to join Hitract’s student community, interact with like-minded students, courses, universities, student unions, associations, potential employers, and other relevant actors and services. You, as a student, have full control and freedom over what is visible on your profile. The data collection occurs by redirecting you to antagning.se where you log in—hitract does NOT gain access to your login credentials and does NOT store them. After you log in, hitract collects the aforementioned data. Hitract does not store any login credentials and CANNOT access your information on antagning.se without you logging in again through hitract. You also have the option to verify your student status by sending a valid enrollment certificate from your university to [email protected]. If you have confidential (protected) personal data, you are strongly advised NOT to verify through antagning.se. In such cases, please contact hitract at [email protected] for separate verification and account setup procedures, or reach out to your student union or student association for guidance.

What should you consider if a third party has paid for a service on your behalf as a Member?

If you are employed by a company, organization, or another party, you may use a service on hitract.se that has been paid for by that party. In this relationship, you are the Member and own the created account. This means you are responsible for ensuring compliance with all parts of this agreement. The party that has paid for the service has the right to manage access for the Member they have paid for and may also access reports and summaries related to that Member.

What are your obligations when purchasing a paid service?

When you purchase a product (e.g., tickets, memberships, or other items), a premium service (e.g., hitSearch), or other types of services on hitract.se or in our app, you agree to pay the applicable fee and any taxes or charges relevant to your country. If you do not pay the required fee, the service/product will be terminated, and you will no longer be able to access it. If you pay with a card linked to another currency or pay an invoice in a different currency, you acknowledge that currency conversion fees may apply and that the final service cost may vary (e.g., due to exchange rates).

To provide you with as seamless an experience as possible, we will automatically charge you for all subscription-based services (e.g., hitSearch) for as long as you choose to keep them. This means the selected payment method (e.g., credit card) will be charged at the start of each billing cycle. If you do not wish to be charged, you must cancel the service before the renewal date.

Payment

Unless otherwise agreed, payment for your order must be made at the time of ordering using a bank/credit card, direct payment, or other available payment methods ('Payment Methods') offered via pay.hitract.se or the hitract app. The Payment Methods available for your order will be visible at the step where you choose to pay.

Hitract cannot guarantee that all Payment Methods will always be available, and they may be temporarily unavailable or restricted from time to time. Hitract reserves the right to add or remove Payment Methods at any time at its own discretion.

With your consent, your bank/credit card or payment information may be stored with our third-party payment providers for future orders. Hitract NEVER stores your bank/credit card or payment information. Your transaction data (your payment) is shared with hitract and the third party you have chosen to process the transaction with.

Hitract does not provide its own payment services to you or any third party. All online payments are processed via external payment service providers presented on pay.hitract.se or in the hitract app. By making a purchase through pay.hitract.se or the Hitract app, you agree to these Terms and also to the Terms of Use of the respective external payment provider used for your transaction. For more information, visit the respective external payment provider’s website.

Your Rights as a Member

As a Member of hitract, you have a number of rights. These are important for you to be aware of and to understand.

Who owns the information and materials on the service?

As a Member of hitract, you own all the information and materials you upload to the service. By uploading materials or information to the service, you grant hitract a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, publish, distribute, copy, and process the material or information without your further consent or compensation. Hitract will never use your materials for advertising purposes without your explicit consent. You may always withdraw this non-exclusive license by removing the materials or information from the service or by deleting your account. Any materials or information that others have accessed or copied may remain available on the service. In some cases, your material may remain in underlying systems (such as backups) even after you have deleted it or terminated your account; however, it will no longer be accessible to others.

How will we handle your personal data?

Hitract will need to process your personal data to provide you with the services you request. This processing is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the rights it grants you. Hitract takes data protection and privacy seriously—you can find more information in our Privacy Policy.

Depending on your chosen payment method, an external payment provider may also process your personal data according to their own terms. See the link under the 'Payment' section.

What rights do I have to cancel or terminate the service?

Both you and hitract may terminate the service and thereby withdraw from this Agreement at any time. You do this by deleting your account on the service, which also terminates the Agreement. The following rights for hitract will remain even after the Agreement is terminated: (1) Members who remain on the service still have the right to access any information or materials you have previously made available on the service; (2) Hitract’s worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, publish, distribute, and copy your material or information without further consent or compensation continues to apply.

Limitations

As a Visitor or Member of the service, you acknowledge that certain limitations apply. These are described below.

Do I gain ownership of the material and information in the service I purchase?

As a Member or Visitor of the service, you do not under any circumstances obtain any intellectual property rights to the service. You therefore do not gain ownership of any material or information in the service such as text, logos, images, or illustrations.

Can my service be changed or terminated at any time?

Hitract reserves the right to change, terminate, or otherwise limit the service at any time. This may include visual changes, functional changes (such as search features), and price changes. As a Member, you always have the right to terminate your membership.

Hitract is not a storage service and therefore takes no responsibility for keeping your uploaded information or materials available over time. Materials or information may be removed from the service at any time.

What should I consider when using information and material on the service?

All information and material made available on the service is either created by our members or sourced from third parties. While we attempt to review such material when possible, you may encounter false, offensive, illegal, or otherwise misleading content. By agreeing to these terms, you acknowledge that your name, logo, or other personal/company-related information may appear in inaccurate contexts or be misused by Members or Visitors. You also understand that hitract cannot be held responsible for such misuse. If you encounter false, inappropriate, or offensive material, please report it to [email protected].

If you import data from third parties (such as course history), you understand that the data source may be incorrect and that hitract cannot modify that data. You as a Member must always contact the data source to request corrections.

What guarantees do I have as a Member or Visitor?

Hitract does not guarantee the availability of the service and reserves the right to make the service unavailable or interrupt it at any time. Furthermore, no guarantees are given that the service will operate without errors. Hitract provides the service 'as is' at any given time. This means hitract cannot guarantee that specific materials, information, or features will remain available over time.

What does your liability look like?

Unless otherwise required by law, hitract assumes no liability. This means that hitract or any third-party collaborators cannot be held liable for direct or indirect losses, such as those related to data, reputation, or opportunities. Hitract can never be held liable for refunds exceeding a maximum of three times the monthly or yearly fee for the service (if such a fee has been paid).

Twists

Our hope is that you as a Member or Visitor on the service and hitract, by agreeing to these Terms, will never need to enter into a dispute. Should a dispute arise, it is practical for both parties to know where such a matter will be resolved.

You agree that all disputes shall be settled in a competent court in Stockholm, Sweden. You further agree that Swedish law shall always apply in the event of a dispute.
